One of snookers true legends, Jimmy White has, to date, had an incredible career becoming one of the most loved players the game has seen. His illustrious career includes winning 10 ranking events, 27 invitational events and notching up an astonishing six appearances in the final of the World Championships. He is also one of only six players to have completed a maximum break of 147 at the World Championships.
In November 2009, Jimmy entered the jungle as part of I'm a Celebrity Get Me out of Here. He finished the series in third place cementing his popularity amongst the British public.
Due to his appearance in the jungle, Jimmy was unable to compete in the UK Championships and therefore found himself requiring a vital win in his first qualifying match of the World Championships in order to stay on the Main Tour. Jimmy battled a hard fought fight eventually winning 10-8 against Mark Boyle into the early hours of the following morning and securing his place on the tour for another season.
Last season saw Jimmy have some success in invitational events beating Barry Hawkins 8-6 in the final of the Sangsom 6-red World Grand Prix and Graeme Dott 5-3 in the final of the World Series of Snooker in Prague.
In 2012 Jimmy celebrates his 50th birthday and an amazing 30 years in the top echelons of the sport. As a result Barry Hearn has awarded Jimmy a Testimonial Day. The event, organised by Jason Francis will be a celebration of Jimmy's illustrious career, attended by every living World Champion, as well as celebrities and the legendary Ronnie Wood who will entertain guests on the day with a star studded band who are coming together especially for the occasion.
