Jamie won the prestigious European Under-19 Championships in 2003 at the tender age of 16. Three years later in 2006, he won the English Open Championship. The following year in 2007, Jamie qualified for the Main Tour for the first time in his career via the PIOS. Despite having good runs in the Shanghai Masters and Northern Ireland Trophy qualifiers, Jamie fell off the tour at the end of the 2007-08 season.
Jamie spent the 2009-10 season competing in the PIOS in an attempt to regain his place on the professional tour. Having reached the semi-finals twice and the quarter-finals twice out of the eight events, Jamie finished in sixth place earning his place on the Main Tour for the 2010-11 season.
